DESCRIPTION:Hi Troop 6\,\n\n\nIt is that time of year again where school is ending and summer is beginning. The scouts (and parents) have worked hard all year and Troop 6 will be celebrating all of those accomplishments with our end of the season party at Hoopes Park in WC at 7pm on Monday 6/10. We will be grilling some burgers and hotdogs\, having fun\, and conducting a quick board of review for two scouts advancing which we still need a few parent volunteers for. Troop 6 will be providing the food and drinks but if you want to bring a snack or dessert just email us back and let us know what (so we don’t duplicate efforts). Please let us know if you’ll be attending as well.\n\nMeeting Details:\n\nWho: Scouts and Families are all welcome (please rsvp)\nWhere: Hoopes Park – 700 Hoopes Park Ln\, West Chester\, PA 19380\nWhen: Monday\, June 10th\, at 7pm\n\nAs noted\, please RSVP to let us know how many will be attending\, if you will bring anything\, and if you could spend a few minutes conducting the Board of Review (no experience necessary – we will provide direction).\n\nLeadership Announcement:\n \nWe are also happy to announce that Mr. Pratt is stepping down as Scoutmaster after this meeting and Mr. Oehler will be stepping into the role as Scoutmaster. Sue Smith will take over John’s current role of Committee Chair and John Reilly will take on the role of Assistant Scoutmaster. As mentioned in previous meetings\, we still need parent participation in a variety of roles to keep operating this Troop.\n\nCongratulations to all the Scouts who have achieved rank advancement\, merit badge completion\, and approval of their Eagle Scout projects. We hope you’ll join us in celebrating these accomplishments.

The key elements are then taught with a clear focus on HOW TO. The skills come alive during the week as the patrol goes on a Quest for the Meaning of Leadership. \nNYLT is a six-day course offered over two weekends each spring. Content is delivered in a troop and patrol outdoor setting with an emphasis on immediate application of learning in a fun environment. Interconnecting concepts and work processes are introduced early\, built upon\, and aided by the use of memory aids\, which allows participants to understand and employ the leadership skills much faster. \nIn order to attend a NYLT course\, a youth must have the following qualifications by the beginning of the course: \n\nMust be a registered member of a Scouting unit.\nMust have a current BSA Health and Medical Record form parts A\, B\, and C.\nAs of March 1\, 2019\, Scouts BSA members (male and female) must be at least 13 and be First Class Rank or higher. DESCRIPTION:Introduction to Leadership Skills for Troops (ILST) \nThe purpose of the ILST course is to teach Scouts with leadership positions about their new roles and how to reach success most effectively in that role. It is intended to help Scouts in leadership positions within their unit understand their responsibilities and to equip them with organizational and leadership skills to fulfill those responsibilities. ILST is the first course in the series of leadership training offered to Scouts. Completion of ILST is a prerequisite for Scouts to participate in the more advanced leadership courses National Youth Leadership Training (NYLT) and the National Advanced Youth Leadership Experience (NAYLE). DESCRIPTION:Cook-O-Rama 2024 \nTroop 6 combines an overnight camping trip with a top chef style competition. The results are a ton of fun and all the scouts get to both learn and practice their cooking skills. The scouts need to get creative to incorporate the mystery ingredient into their menu and they utilize the skills of budgeting\, planning\, and teamwork to name a few. This is a great trip for parents to attend and judge the cooking competition as well. \nCost is $45/scout* \n*Troop 6 does not want the cost of activities to prevent anyone from attending. If you want to go and need assistance\, please talk to your Scoutmaster or another adult leader and we’ll ensure you’ll be able to attend. \nIf you are attending please fill out the permission slip below:
